In a country very like ours, in a timeline very similar to ours, trouble is stirring.  For centuries this amalgam of several ancient countries has lived in relative harmony, but the new millennium has brought an uncertain time of political instability.

For years there has been a political movement advocating greater freedom for the population, that until recently had hardly attracted any support other than a small, but a highly motivated band of followers.

Seeing the lack of enthusiasm for their point of view, they have resorted to more and more extreme acts. In the main, this has been limited to public protest and other acts of civil unrest preferring to comfort themselves with the notion that the masses just need to be led in the right direction according to their beliefs.

There forms within the broader political body the nucleus of armed revolt.  This secretive group of rebels is not a terrorist organisation as we would know it.  They want to trigger an event that will have the population flocking to their cause rather than shunning them in revulsion and horror.

After months of planning, they fix their sights on a seldom-used army training barracks situated on the very southern edge of the ancient northlands.  By taking this base and holding it, they believe they will light a torch that will burn brightly throughout the North attracting millions to their cause.  These rebels, in their enthusiasm, expect that the country as a whole will react with shock, but given its peaceful nature, respond with nothing more than words and possibly Government intervention.

They are badly mistaken.  The base believed to be empty is, in fact, one of the government’s top secret research facilities, intent on producing a deterrent that will see the population suppressed once and for all.  This facility is entrusted to the High Guard – an ancient, highly trained military force who were once believed to be the government’s assassins, now redundant they are assigned to the security of highly sensitive government installations.

From the centre of government goes out an instruction to quash the rebellion at all costs. The nation will not and cannot accept such a direct challenge to its authority, but more importantly, reveal the secrets of the base.

Unwittingly the Rebel forces stumble across a Top Secret experiment that if allowed to proceed with see the end of Humanity as they know it.

Welcome to the next instalment of the ever successful AI500 – OPERATION GENESIS playing at Anzio Camp just outside Leek in Staffordshire. 

Anzio Camp is a huge, disused M.O.D barracks and training facility encompassing a massive number of buildings.  This site has been used several times by us at the AI500 and is perfect for the backstory and missions we have planned.

There is parking/camping available on site but there is also a camping site opposite which has all the facilities of an established camping site, including proper toilets and shower facilities!

Anzio is a proper back to basics site with none of the after-hours facilities of some of our previous weekends but don’t let this put you off, you will still experience the fun and excitement of an AI500 weekender with all the after game banter with your chosen team, including our Saturday night MEGA raffle.

The Small Print and Rules:

The following details will be important to read through and understand and doing so will increase your enjoyment of the event. Some details may be subject to change in the run-up to the event so please ensure you look out for email communication from us on a regular basis.


Ai500: Operation Genesis will take place at Anzio Camp, Blackshaw Moore, Nr Leek, Staffordshire,  ST13 8TL. It is a ticket-only event with no access to the general public allowed.



Bookings can only be made via this website and spaces cannot be booked via any other means.  Advance booking is only available via Paypal and a £45 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT will be required. You will receive a payment confirmation from Paypal, which will be your receipt of payment.
Please make sure that the email address tied into your Paypal account is your correct email address as this will be used to confirm your space and provide all further information building up to the event. This is very important as information is key.

Group Bookings:

Group bookings can be made via Paypal by simply adding the required amount of spaces (a maximum of ten spaces per booking) into your basket on our website checkout. A £45 deposit will be required for each named individual you wish to reserve a space for. Each individual’s name should be entered into the “Additional Info” box upon checkout. If you have made the booking we will then respond to the email address with any further information you require, which you may need to pass on to the individuals you have booked in.


 Payment in Full:

When you arrive at the event ALL Players will be required to sign in and pay in FULL (CASH ONLY). You will also be required to sign a disclaimer form. (A number of documents will be available at the sign in desk on the day, but to speed things along please bring your own copy if at all possible which will be emailed to you with your confirmation email.)
Once you have booked in and handed in the necessary paperwork you will be issued with a game patch – this item must be visible at all times (ESPECIALLY WHEN GAINING ACCESS TO THE SITE AND SLEEPING AREA) if you do not have this item then you will not be allowed into the site so please keep safe.

Sleeping Arrangements

Camping only on site so you will need to bring tents.  The area is grass so all tents are welcome.  You can sleep in cars if you wish or there is a big building you can stay in if you do not have a tent.  Caravans/camper vans will not fit through the gates but there is a campsite opposite reasonably priced.

Please note there is absolutely no power on this site whatsoever; please bring torches, lanterns etc for night time use.


There will be no curfews on this site but please be aware of the people around you and be considerate at all times. For those venturing off site after hours, the gates will be closed and unmanned beyond 22.00.


Food/drinks will NOT be available to buy unless we manage to find a retailer but unless otherwise announced presume that there will be none available. Cooking will be allowed but no open fires.  We advise bringing an adequate supply of food and drinking water along to the event.


We would ask that all attendees act with consideration and common sense with regards to alcohol. Anyone under the influence of alcohol will be removed from gaming immediately. Outside of the stated gaming periods we will treat you as adults and expect you to behave as such. Please show a proper level of consideration to other players and to neighbours of the site.  PLEASE NOTE – there will be no cleanup crew at the event so please bare this in mind if you overindulge as you will be dealing with it in the morning!


In the event that any Ai500 attendees are found or reported to be using illegal drugs or are under the influence of drugs, including marijuana, they will be ejected immediately from the site and subject to the extent of the law.


It is important to understand that all Ai500 attendees are guests on the site and it is the responsibility of each and every player to ensure that waste and rubbish is managed effectively.
Please remember that to use these sites we cannot leave it in a state once we go and we would appreciate it if you would not leave your areas in a mess.  Skips will be provided in areas where it is easy to throw all rubbish away before you leave.


General Conduct

Whilst on site, please remember that your conduct may be under the scrutiny of other players at all times and your actions and conduct may be considered representative of the wider airsoft community. Please act with due discretion and respect for the site and its staff.

Rule Breaking

We use a 3 strikes and you’re out system for rule breaking, please read the rules carefully as stating that you did not see them is not an excuse for rule breaking.

  1. Break a rule and the marshals will point out your error and ask you not to do it again.
  2. Caught twice and you will be asked to go back to the safe zone and sit out the game for 30 minutes.
  3. 3rd strike and you’re out. No exceptions.

All our marshals carry radios and all have mobile devices with cameras on.  You will not get away with it so don’t try.  Play the game fair and you will have a fantastic weekend.

Eye and Face Protection

Due to the nature of the game, we advise that ALL players use full face masks at all time. The use of shooting glasses or mesh goggles remains at the discretion of the user and the event organisers take no responsibility for any injuries or consequences of choosing to not use a full face mask. 

If at any time a member of staff deems your eye protection to be inadequate or unsafe, we reserve the right to refuse to allow you to continue play until an alternative is found.

All under 16 are required to wear full face protection under the terms of the site insurance.

Camo Restrictions

We have 2 teams, Government and Rebels – you can wear…

Government  – Any camouflage any colour. NO SOLID COLOURS AT ALL.

Rebels – Any solid colour BUT NOT GREY.  This includes civilian clothing if you wish.

If you are not sure and have to ask then better to not wear it or go on the team that best fits your outfit.

We will have a marshal in the safezone at the beginning of the briefing each morning with tape so if you feel you need taping then we will do this.

Rules, Medic Rules, Respawn and everything in between


  1. A bb hitting any part of your body or weapon is classed as a hit. This is a gentleman’s game players so please adhere to these rules, call yourself hit and then take the appropriate measures. Each player will be supplied with a blue medic armband.
    1. 1st hit – Call hit loudly then wait for a team mate to come and remove your armband, wait for a count of 5 seconds before returning back into the game. Put your removed armband somewhere safe.
    2. 2nd hit – Call hit loudly put your hand up and walk back to your respawn point. Put your armband back on before you return to the playing field.

Dead players can be moved from the line of fire to be medic’d but please act responsibly and do not drag a player huge distances.  If you are that dead player and are in the line of fire please remove yourself to a safe position within a radius of 5 meters.

  1. Semi auto only or single shot firing at all times (this also applies to shot guns), blind firing at any time or in any situation will not be tolerated. Support weapons will be allowed at full auto with a minimum engagement range.
  2. Ammo limits are strictly 600 rounds per weapon (primary, pistol or shotgun).

300 rounds (designated marksman rifles),

150 rounds (single action/bolt action rifles),

1 full mag (support guns).

If you are seen taking ammo from one mag and putting it in another in game then this is classed as cheating and the appropriate measures will be taken.  Go back to the safe zone/respawn for all refilling.

  1. Pyrotechnics that cannot be used – All reusable pyro, 40 Mikes, Red smoke, Morters, anything homemade, and tag rounds of any description are all banned. All other pyrotechnics, grenades can be used and has a 5m kill radius.  Pyro kills are INSTANT and you cannot medic any player back in, this is counted as 2nd hit and you must return to the respawn point.  All pyro should be thrown with caution and not directly at any other player, You can throw however you like BUT WITH CAUTION, anyone abusing this new rule will get a strike. Do not throw over walls, barriers or any construction you cannot see what is at the other side.  Reusable grenades are banned.
  2. You can only shoot around barriers put their for cover, DO NOT shoot under them.

Boundary tape is put there to protect something, please DO NOT shoot towards it.

  1. Pistol Game : All pistols/shotguns must be used on single shot (3 shot shotguns are OK).


Changes in Gameplay


If we decide that a change in gameplay needs to take place we will not do so until a break is called or in an emergency will call a cease fire, bring everyone back to the safezone and brief you ALL accordingly.

Velocity Limits

Maximum 350fps limit for ALL guns capable of semi automatic and/or fully automatic fire measured on a .20g BB.
Maximum 400fps limit for ALL guns capable of semi automatic fire measured on a .20g BB. (Designated Marksman’s Rifles)
Maximum 500fps limit for ALL guns capable only of single/bolt action fire measured with a .20g BB.
All guns over 350fps will be subject to a minimum engagement distance of 25m. Players found to be abusing this will be asked to leave the gaming area.

General Conduct

Don’t act like a dick and we won’t treat you like one.

Airsoft is a game of honour, take your hits, medic as stated above and keep to the rules.   Treat our marshals and other players with respect at all times and if you have any problems then speak directly to the marshals or a member of the management team.

Make sure all rubbish has been put in the skips provided.

Treat the portoloos with respect ie as you would if you were taking a dump in your grandma’s house!

Smoking will be permitted in all outside areas, please do not smoke in the Airsoft Arena or in any buildings attached to the event.

Cameras/Mobile phones/Video Equipment
No restrictions at all but if you break it – tough!
